A child born in Delhi from IIT-Kanpur was offered a huge package of Rs 1.5 crore from Microsoft. the student will receive $ 136,000 (Rs 94 lakh) as basic salary along with $ 70,000 as expenses for medical, visa and stock expenses. The total package is rounded to almost Rs 1.5 crore.
IITian was offered a position at Microsoft headquarters in Redmond and will reportedly work on the design, implementation and resolution of software errors. Earlier this week, Samsung offered the Rs 78 lakh package to 10 IIT students on day 1 of the placement campaign. The company selected five IIT-Bombay students and the other five were from IIT-Delhi and IIT-Kanpur. Uber also distributed Rs 75 lakh as the base salary at IIT-Madras during its slot in the cemetery
Last year, four students from IIT-Kanpur earned a salary of 1.5 million rupees from Oracle. The students came from the IT department. Similarly, in 2014, a student from IIT-Patna was offered an attractive salary package of Rs 1.8 crore by Google. This was the highest salary offered at IIT-Patna.
About 200 companies are expected to visit the IIT-Kanpur campus this year for internships. Last year, nearly 280 companies visited the campus and the highest offer was Rs. 93 Rs.
This year, IIT Bombay counted with the participation of 10 companies during the first space between 8h and 17h30. Of the 300 students who participated in the course, only 20 were selected. Last year, more than 60 students were placed in first place. In the second location, there were 11 companies. This is the first time Uber has visited the IIT-B campus.
At IIT-Kharagpur, nearly 90 students were placed at the end of two sessions on the first day. About 25 companies had arrived at the university. While IIT Kharagpur saw a decrease in the number of companies, IIT Guwahati saw its number increase on the first day.
