Graduates of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee have received 701 job offers in the first four days of the current campus placement season. Among the main recruiters this year, Jio Infocomm has made a total of 38 job offers. The first four days of the placement season at IIT Roorkee have reported good hiring numbers.
IIT Roorkee students received 215 offers from 10 companies this year. The number includes 150 pre-placement offers (PPO). In the first three days, a total of 94 companies visited the IIT Roorkee campus in the first three days. The main recruiters were companies such as Deloitte, Futures First, MagicPin, Mfine, Zomato, Samsung Noida, Quantile, Swiggy, Vertias and others.
IIT Roorkee students have received 12 international offers in total. Some of the companies that made offers include companies such as Genpact, HSBC Software, Maruti Suzuki, Practice.ai, Reliance Jio, Axxela Advisory Services and Sterlite Technologies. A total of 1,352 students registered for multi-department placements this year.
IIT Roorkee was established in 1847 and offers higher education programs in engineering, science, administration, architecture, planning, social sciences and humanities.
The main IITs of India started the placements on the campus on December 1 and a total of 3000 jobs have already been offered to the graduates of IIT in the first three days. The good news is that students from the main IITs, including Madras, Delhi, Mumbai, Kharagpur, Roorkee, will be among the top companies in large numbers.
The average salary package offered to IIT Roorkee graduates was Rs 25 lakh per year. International salary packages are in the range of Rs 45 lakh per year up to Rs 1.5 crore. The main contracting companies in the IITs are McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group, Uber, Microsoft, Intel and Qualcomm.
